YouTube shuts down Indian channel for posting AI-generated fake trailers

YouTube has reportedly shut down two of most prominent channels for violating its policies. Among the terminated is Screen Culture, an India-based channel, that has served AI-generated movie trailers, duping millions of movie fans, a report by Deadline said. The sweep also included KH Studio, based in Georgia. According to the report, together, the two channels had over 2 million subscribers and amassed more than one billion views by flooding the platform with convincing, but entirely fabricated, trailers for upcoming movies.

Deadline claims that Screen Culture employed a team of a dozen editors who used generative AI to splice official footage with fabricated images.
