YouTube outage: What does ‘502 Error’ message mean

YouTube experienced a worldwide disruption, leaving thousands of users globally unable to access the world’s most popular video platform. The outage, which peaked in late Friday (December 19) evening, triggered a wave of “Error 502” messages, forcing users to go on social media to check what’s wrong. The Google-owned company has not issued a statement on the outage.

The technical failure was first detected by the real-time monitoring site Downdetector, where complaints began to skyrocket around 6 pm IST.
