YouTube down in US: Company gives ‘final update’, explains what caused the outage

Thousands of YouTube users in the US and other countries worldwide faced problems accessing the video platform. The outage impacted YouTube.com, the YouTube app, YouTube Music, Kids, and TV with Downdetector reporting more than 2,40,000 reports at the peak in the US. In India, around 17,000 reports were registered. YouTube was quick to acknowledge the down time. Sharing a post on X, the Google-owned video platform said: “If you’re having trouble accessing YouTube right now, you’re not alone — our teams are looking into this …”. “We’re also seeing a small number of reports that some people are unable to login to YouTube TV. This is related to the broader issue across YouTube, and we’re also working on a fix here,” an update from the company read.
