Morgan Stanley predicts 16-20% telecom tariff jump in Q1 FY27
Morgan Stanley expects telecom companies to raise prices by 16-20% on 4G and 5G plans between April and June 2026 . That’s sooner and steeper than their earlier forecast of a mid-year 15% increase.
“We are now assuming 16-20 % tariff increases across 4G/5G plans, both prepaid and postpaid, in 2026,” analysts said in a December 15 report. Recent moves like removing cheap plans and bundling streaming services only with premium tiers signal companies are preparing customers for higher prices, it said.
