YouTube creator bans controversy: Why Enderman’s case has raised global concerns over AI-based moderation
On November 3, 2025, popular YouTuber Enderman revealed that his nine-year-old channel with over 380,000 subscribers had been terminated without warning. He shared a screenshot of YouTube’s message, which read that his channel wasn’t following the platform’s “Terms of Service” and was removed to “protect the community.” The notice also gave him until November 4, 2025, to file an appeal.
Enderman posted on X saying he believed the decision came from YouTube’s automated systems, not human moderators. He said, “I had no idea that something as big as a channel deletion could be done by AI only.” Soon, his story went viral.
