The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has announced a steep reduction – up to 95% – in security test evaluation fees under the Communication Security Certification Scheme (ComSec). Effective from August 1, 2025, the revised fee structure aims to make security certification more affordable, particularly for domestic manufacturers and MSMEs. The move is expected to ease the financial burden on manufacturers and encourage wider participation in the certification process.

Government research and development institutions, such as the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), will be fully exempted from all security test evaluation fees for applications submitted until March 31, 2028. This exemption is designed to support innovation and public sector research in the telecom space.
