Telecom Infra for indoor coverage

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has introduced a wide-ranging policy and regulatory framework aimed at ensuring that all buildings in India whether residential, commercial or institutional are equipped with robust Telecommunication Infrastructure (TI). This marks a decisive move towards treating digital connectivity as a basic utility, equivalent to essential services like water supply, power distribution and fire safety.
This decision follows extensive deliberations, drawing on Trai’s recommendations of February 20, 2023 and its detailed follow-up response dated May 22, 2025.
