C-DoT marked its 43rd Foundation Day with a renewed focus on its role in shaping India’s indigenous telecom technology capabilities — from rural telephone exchanges in the 1980s to 4G, 5G, cybersecurity, quantum communications and next-generation networks.

Addressing the Foundation Day celebrations, communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted the organisation’s evolution and its role in India’s future telecom ambitions, noting that C-DoT’s contributions have positioned India to lead the world in 6G after lagging in 4G and keeping pace in 5G. Minister of state for communications Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani described C-DoT as a centre of India’s technological confidence, reflecting Indian ingenuity, technological self-reliance and service to the nation. The minister also pointed out C-DoT’s young workforce, with more than 50 per cent of its employees below the age of 30.
