India 5G data consumption continued to outpace all global markets at per capita monthly usage of 32 GB, latest data published in the Ericsson Mobility Report showed. As of end-2024, India had 290 million 5G subscriptions, making up 24% of total mobile subscriptions.

This number is expected to grow to 980 million by 2030, covering 75% of all mobile users, it said. Globally, 5G subscriptions now account one-third of all.
