5G SA adoption lags, Bharti Airtel deploying RedCap, says GSA: Report
NEW DELHI: The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) reported slow global adoption of 5G standalone (SA) networks, with fewer than 100 operators launching services by October 2026.
This contrasts with over 390 operators that have deployed commercial 5G networks worldwide. Vaishali Purohit, a research analyst with FDM CCS Insight who also works within the GSA research team, said 5G SA deployment “remains a subset of the wider 5G market”, according to a Light Reading report.
