The board of Tata Sons is likely to meet on September 17, the first meeting after its chairman, N. Chandrasekaran, decided to step down at the end of his term by not seeking a reappointment.

The board meeting was scheduled before Chandra made his decision official on August 12. While Chandra’s impending exit does not appear to be on the agenda of the meeting, a discussion on the subject cannot be ruled out, sources said.
