YouTube TV secures NBCU networks as Peacock joins Primetime Channels

NBCUniversal and YouTube TV have reached a long-term distribution agreement, averting a blackout that would have affected more than 10 million pay-TV subscribers. The deal, announced Thursday afternoon following a short extension of their previous contract, ensures continued carriage of NBCU’s full network portfolio on the streaming platform.

The agreement includes the launch of a revived NBC Sports Network this fall, giving viewers access to NBCUniversal’s sports programming beyond what airs on the main NBC broadcast network. The reconstituted sports channel, which previously shut down in 2021, won’t include marquee properties like NFL games or the Olympics.
