H-1B Indians on red alert, freeze travel

Indians are continuing to defer travel plans to and from the US, unsettled by the uncertainty caused by US President Donald Trump’s policy on H-1B visas. This is despite the US government clarifying that only fresh H-1B petitions will incur the new $100,000 (about Rs 88 lakh) fee.
Immigration experts said since the scope and implementation of the new policy on non-immigrant visas is still unclear, the prevailing scenario could result in reduced waiting periods for US visa processing for Indians in the short-term.
