#ET5GCongress: Telco-techco partnerships crucial to combat spam, says Bharti Airtel’s Rahul Vatts

NEW DELHI: Telecom operators and technology companies’ partnerships will be crucial in combating spam on over-the-top (OTT) communications platforms going ahead, said Rahul Vatts, chief regulatory officer of Bharti Airtel, on Friday.

“We require a sector-wise collaboration. We recently announced a tie-up on curbing spam with Google on RCS. This is the first in the world that a technology company is tying up with a telco to protect the customers,” Vatts, who is also the director at OneWeb India, said at the ninth edition of the ETTelecom 5G Congress 2026.
