#ET5GCongress: Telecom must become intelligence layer of digital economy, says GSMA’s Julian Gorman

NEW DELHI: Telecom networks are transitioning from being mere connectivity enablers to becoming the intelligence backbone of the global digital economy, said Julian Gorman, Head of Asia Pacific at GSMA. Speaking on Friday, Gorman emphasised that the industry is entering an “invisible telco era,” where networks are deeply embedded into economic systems, powered by AI, advanced architectures, and outcome-driven enterprise demand.

Gorman was delivering a global address at the ninth edition of the ETTelecom 5G Congress 2026.
