India smartphone market surges 8% on-year by value in 2025, led by Apple, Samsung: Counterpoint

NEW DELHI: The volumes in the India smartphone market grew by 1% year-on-year in 2025, but recorded a stronger 8% year-on-year value growth, as handset makers – including Apple and Samsung – continued to benefit from demand for premium devices, according to the latest data released by Counterpoint Research on Monday.

India’s smartphone shipments declined 4% year-on-year in Q4 2025, mainly due to seasonal post-festive demand slowdown, further aggravated by price hikes due to rising memory prices.
