Vi charts revival plan after AGR relief
Mumbai: After years spent navigating regulatory headwinds and financial strain, Vodafone Idea is beginning to look beyond survival. “For the first time in years, the fog has cleared, allowing the business to look beyond survival and focus on sustainable growth,” said Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, adding that the turning point that fundamentally changed the telecom company’s operating environment was the resolution of the long-pending Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) issue.
Vodafone Idea, created following the merger of UK-based Vodafone’s local operations and Aditya Birla Group’s Idea Cellular in 2018, had been burdened by prolonged AGR dues, customer losses, underinvestment and operational challenges, casting uncertainty over its future.
