BSNL told to compensate customer over 4G service deficiency

Mangaluru: The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Dakshina Kannada, recently directed Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to refund ₹3,880 received for recharge of 4G unlimited data from the complainant, with interest at 6% per annum, to the complainant Theja Kumar DM.

BSNL was directed to provide uninterrupted 4G data service continuously to the complainant’s number. BSNL was also directed to pay ₹10,000 as compensation for deficiency in service and mental agony, and ₹5,000 towards the cost of litigation to the complainant. BSNL was liable to pay the said amounts within 60 days from the date of pronouncement of the order.
