NEW DELHI: In 2025, digital services were the backbone of consumers’ online lives, but they occasionally snapped. This year, millions of users were left in the dark as gaming and communication giants went offline during massive outages, as demand strained the platforms.
However, given how many platforms rely on a few cloud providers and content delivery networks (CDNs), centralised infrastructure also played a key role in outages, showcasing how a single point of failure can disrupt multiple services simultaneously.
