Amazon, Microsoft and 8 other biggest global tech job cuts of 2025
Silicon Valley has been known for disrupting industries, revolutionising corporate operations, and promising a future in which technology would create a lot for all. But in recent years, that disruption turned inward, as the very companies that built the digital age began dismantling the workforce that made it possible.
At the time of writing, the independent tracking site Layoffs.fyi reported a stark total of 122,549 employees laid off from 257 tech companies in 2025.
