India could lose ground in global content economy without faster AI adoption: Sanjay Jaju

India risks losing ground in the global content economy if it holds back on artificial intelligence (AI), Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju said at the CII Big Picture Summit on Monday.

Opening the conference with a strong push for rapid adoption, he called AI a seismic shift and warned that “one segment that is going to be hugely disrupted is going to be the media and entertainment sector.”

With “songs being made on the fly” and “videos being generated out of AI,” it is becoming difficult to predict “where it is going to end and stop,” he said.
