Nvidia may once again be able to sell H200 AI chips in China as US plans to lift ban
The US is reportedly considering allowing Nvidia to sell its H200 AI chips in China. A report by the news agency Reuters cited sources familiar with the matter to claim that his potential policy change follows a recent bilateral agreement between the US and China. The Commerce Department, which manages US export controls, is reviewing a change to its existing policy that prohibits the sale of such advanced chips to China. However, the report citing sources warned that these plans could be altered.
A White House official declined to comment to Reuters on the matter but stated, “The administration is committed to securing America’s global technology leadership and safeguarding our national security.”
