Meta’s Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun makes his resignation official, writes a long Facebook post

Meta’s chief AI scientist Yann LeCun widely known as of one of the ‘godfathers of modern AI’ has finally announced his resignation from the company after 12 years. In a detailed post shared on social media platform Facebook, LeCun announced that he is leaving the company to start his new venture focused on advancing machine intelligence. LeCun described the goal as achieving “the next big revolution in AI,” potentially enabling robots and intelligent systems that can adapt to situations they were not explicitly programmed for.

LeCun joined Facebook in 2013 and co-founded FAIR (Facebook AI Research) which became one of the most influential AU research groups around the world.
