The deal reportedly aligns the intersecting ambitions of Elon Musk, who has been aggressively seeking partners to accelerate xAI’s growth in the competitive AI race against rivals like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who is attempting to transform Saudi Arabia into a global technology and artificial intelligence hub.

The joint project is poised to become xAI’s largest data center outside the United States, designed to consume an estimated 500 megawatts of electricity.
