Ericsson sees India driving 5G, AI-led innovations; eyes edge data centres: Erik Ekudden

NEW DELHI: India’s robust fifth-generation (5G) networks, combined with capabilities in the artificial intelligence (AI) and data center sectors, could drive local innovations and create business opportunities, said a top executive of the Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson.

“India has probably the best opportunity in the world because it has a history of being the leader in IT and services on data centers, but now also AI and the transition into data-driven operations,” Erik Ekudden, chief technology officer (CTO) of Ericsson, told ETTelecom in an exclusive interview.
