Amazon shake-up to impact up to 1.5k employees in India

BENGALURU: Amazon’s ongoing global restructuring extended to its India operations, impacting an estimated 1,000–1,500 employees, sources told TOI. Affected staff reportedly learned about the layoffs through personal email notifications, with access revoked soon after.

Employees were invited via Chime meetings to speak with team leaders or HR representatives about their transition. Badge access for impacted staff was disabled, and those present in offices were instructed to contact security for assistance while exiting the premises.
