Nvidia to invest $1 billion in Finnish Nokia to lead AI-native 5G, 6G networks

NEW DELHI: American artificial intelligence (AI) chip giant Nvidia has agreed to invest $1 billion for a 2.9% stake in Nokia, in a move that will transform the Finnish telecom gear maker into an AI behemoth and prepare it for the transition from 5G Advanced to the sixth-generation (6G) network era.

Nvidia will invest the abovementioned amount in Nokia at a subscription price of $6.01, in a deal that will also add Nvidia-powered, commercial-grade AI-RAN products to the networking vendor’s radio access network (RAN) portfolio.
