DoT issues advisory

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued a comprehensive advisory urging the deployment of oneM2M standards-based IoT solutions across India to ensure interoperability, security and scalability in the rapidly expanding Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem.

The advisory, issued on August 21, 2025, directs all ministries, departments, government organizations and IoT stakeholders including M2M service providers and IoT device manufacturers to deploy IoT solutions based on oneM2M standards for creating smart infrastructures. This mandate aims to ensure that all applications and use cases deployed are interoperable and secure.
