Merge telecom, broadcasting, IT under single ministry for streamlined regulation: CSEP

NEW DELHI: The Centre for Social and Economic Progress or CSEP has recommended that the Indian government merge telecom, broadcasting, and information technology (IT) under a single ministry to streamline regulations for carriage (mobile networks) and content.

The public policy research think-tank, in a report, said the combined ministry – the Ministry of Digital Ecosystem (MoDE) – could enable the regulation of mobile networks and content by a single piece of legislation.
