Donald Trump expected to extend TikTok deadline again, fourth time since January

The Trump administration is reportedly looking to extend the September 17 deadline for China-based ByteDance to sell TikTok’s US assets, report Reuters citing sources familiar with the matter. If confirmed, this will be the fourth extension granted by President Donald Trump since a law gave ByteDance until January 2025 to divest or shut down the short-video app, which has 170 million users in the US.

Trump has previously said that he has U.S. buyers lined up for TikTok, but on Sunday he gave mixed signals about its future. “”I may or may not, we’re negotiating TikTok right now.
