Meta’s partnership with ScaleAI, in which Mark Zuckerberg invested $14.3 billion, may have ‘data’ problem
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg invested $14.3 billion in ScaleAI to gain critical access to foundational AI infrastructure and high-quality labeled data, which is essential for training advanced AI models and accelerating its development in the AI race against competitors like Google and OpenAI. However, that very data seems to be a problem at the company’s new “superintelligence” lab, and reportedly one of the reasons why there has been an exodus of AI talent from the company.
According to a report by Tech Crunch, Meta’s TBD Labs, its cutting-edge AI research division, is facing significant issues with the quality of its training data from its primary partner, Scale AI.
