Dutch tech giant ASML eyes India partnership as PM Modi pushes for local chipmaking

Semiconductor equipment maker ASML Holding NV is eyeing opportunities in India as Prime Minister Narendra Modi ramps up efforts to build a domestic chip industry and cut reliance on imports.

The Veldhoven, Netherlands-based firm, a key supplier to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. and Samsung Electronics Co., is looking to expand partnerships with Indian companies in the coming year, Chief Executive Officer Christophe Fouquet said Tuesday at the Semicon India summit in New Delhi.
