Europe needs to catch up with the United States and build up its digital capabilities, German software giant SAP warned Tuesday as it announced a 20-billion-euro ($23-billion) investment in cloud computing.
“We cannot wait five years,” SAP board member Thomas Saueressig said on a call with reporters. “Europe is far behind.”
European leaders have grown increasingly nervous at their dependence on US tech firms ever since President Donald Trump’s re-election to the White House.
