Vodafone Idea shares jump 2% as telco explores non-banking funding for capex continuity
Vodafone Idea shares jumped 2.17% to their day’s high of ₹6.60 on the BSE on Tuesday, August 19, after the company’s outgoing Chief Executive Officer, Akshaya Moondra, said that the debt-laden telecom operator is exploring non-banking funding sources to maintain continuity of its capital expenditure plans.
The statement came during the company’s earnings call for the June 2025 quarter, where Moondra highlighted that while discussions with banks continue, lenders are awaiting clarity on the adjusted gross revenue (AGR) issue before extending further credit.
