Intel strengthens engineering team with key hirings, including one from Google

Intel has hired three chip industry executives in engineering and networking teams, the company announced on Wednesday (June 18). Srinivasan Iyengar, Jean-Didier Allegrucci and Shailendra Desai (who joins from Google) are taking up key leadership roles. In addition, Greg Ernst, a sales leader with more than 20 years of Intel experience, has been named chief revenue officer.

The hiring is seen as part of CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s plans to overhaul top management, as per news agency Reuters. He has been making sweeping changes to the company’s top ranks as part of a broader strategy to revitalise the struggling chipmaker.
