Huawei CEO Ren Zhengfei recently made a statement to the state media People’s Daily that reportedly left many American analysts puzzled and some found it tough to believe. In an interaction with Chinese state media, Huawei Technologies’ CEO said that the company’s chips are one generation behind those of US peers. He went on to add that the company is finding ways to improve performance through methods such as cluster computing.
The article, published on the front page of the newspaper, reportedly came just days ahead of the top U.S. and Chinese officials’ trade talks in London where topics such U.S. tech restrictions on China were discussed.
