Researchers say DeepSeek chatbot is linked to China-owned telecom company that’s banned in the US
Security researchers have discovered computer code on DeepSeek’s website that is linked to China Mobile, a state-owned telecommunications company banned from operating in the US. The code may potentially send user login information to the telecom giant.
According to a report by Fortune, the web login page for DeepSeek’s chatbot contains an ‘hidden’ computer script that, when deciphered, reveals connections to computer infrastructure owned by China Mobile. This code appears to be part of the account creation and user login process for DeepSeek, researchers highlight.
