ChatGPT-maker OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to meet PM Narendra Modi during India visit

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to India on February 5, as the artificial intelligence company seeks to align with India’s growing AI initiatives, according to government officials.

S Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), confirmed the planned meeting during a CNBC-TV18 interview, adding that Altman will also meet with IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss potential applications of OpenAI’s technologies in India.
