Sandbox DoT releases draft rules

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), on November 27, 2024, has issued a draft on the regulatory sandbox for the telecommunications sector, titled “Telecommunications (Regulatory Sandbox) Rules, 2024”. These rules are designed to test new telecom products, services, processes and business models in a controlled environment.

The rules aim to encourage and facilitate innovation and technological development in telecommunications. This will enable a live testing environment where new products, services, processes and business models can be deployed on a limited set of test users for a specified period.
