Got an old iPhone or iPad? Apple may soon wipe your iCloud backup

Apple is one of the few companies that continues to offer software for most of its products years after they are launched. But even after the tech giant discontinues its products, they remain usable for a few years. However, starting next month, backing up your data over iCloud may be restricted to users running iOS 9 or later.

According to a recent report by MacRumors, Apple has reportedly emailed some customers that new backups for iPhones and iPads running on iOS 8 or earlier will no longer be supported and that all their existing iCloud backups will be deleted as well.
