PhonePe’s Indus app store may replace GetApps in Xiaomi smartphones in India

The Chinese smartphone maker is reportedly set to replace its GetApps app store in its smartphones with PhonePe’s Indus AppStore starting in January. This move represents a significant win for the Walmart-backed domestic fintech startup and signals a shift in strategy for the company within the crucial Indian market. The change is expected to be rolled out automatically to Xiaomi devices in India via an update. This partnership will also provide PhonePe with access to a massive user base and strengthen its position in the Indian app store market.
