Jio claims its 5G network can ‘extend smartphone battery life by up to 40 per cent’

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, in its latest Q2 FY25 earnings call, has claimed that its 5G network can reduce power consumption, resulting in extended smartphone battery life by 40 per cent due to the advantages of its standalone (SA) 5G network.

According to the details mentioned on the earnings call, Kiran Thomas, president of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, said that because of spectrum bandwidth assignment as per application requirements, Jio 5G network users can expect smartphone battery life improvement by 20 to 40 per cent.
