Apple may become first company to face EU fine under new tech rules

Apple is reportedly facing a significant antitrust penalty in the European Union (EU). This may mark the first time a tech company will be sanctioned under the bloc’s new Digital Markets Act (DMA), a report has claimed.
Citing sources familiar with the matter, news agency Reuters reported that the fine stems from charges filed in June, when EU regulators accused Apple of violating the DMA that aims to promote fair competition within the digital market.
