    TikTok-parent company ByteDance founder is the richest man in China

    TikTok-parent company ByteDance’s founder Zhang Yiming is China’s richest person, according to annual Hurun China Rich List. His personal wealth reached $49.3 billion, after an increase of 43%. Zhang stepped down as chief executive of ByteDance in 2021 and has become the 18th individual to be crowned China’s richest person in the 26 years since the Hurun China Rich List was first published.
