Reliance Jio’s 5G FWA service driving robust FTTH growth for telco: Analysts

NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio’s aggressive 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) expansion strategy is driving robust fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) additions for the telecom market leader, according to brokerages. Its rival Bharti Airtel, too, is witnessing decent growth in its FTTH base.

“Jio continues to register robust FTTH subs additions with May 2024 recording highest subs addition at 0.38 million (vs 0.35 million in April 2024) driven by its aggressive push of JioAirFiber pan-India coverage in 1HCY24,” JM Financial said in a research note Thursday, which ETTelecom has seen.
