Government has announced the liberalised guidelines for acquiring and producing geospatial data and services including maps to fuel the growth around location-based services. Government in the preamble of document has said that location information is very critical and essential to the success of modern industry offerings such as e-commerce, delivery and logistics and urban transport as well as the traditional sectors such as agriculture, construction and development and mines and minerals.
