IMC 2026: Pemmasani calls on industry to build indigenous alternatives of 10-20 imported network technologies
NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani on Thursday outlined India’s strategic telecom roadmap, calling for domestic alternatives to imported network components and targeting a 10 per cent global share in 6G patents.
Speaking at the “Shaping the Intelligent Infrastructure for 6G: A Technology Leadership Dialogue, CTO Round Table” on the sidelines of IMC 2026, Pemmasani noted that India connected every district with 5G through nearly 5.6 lakh Base Transceiver Stations (BTS).
