From 95% imports to Rs 6.27 lakh crore in smartphone output: Jyotiraditya Scindia on India’s mobile manufacturing growth
New Delhi: India’s mobile phone manufacturing ecosystem has grown to 300 companies from just two over the past 12 years, producing smartphones worth ₹6.27 lakh crore, Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Monday.
He added that India has also designed and manufactured its own 4G stack, which has been deployed across 1 lakh towers.
Scindia was speaking at The Kautilya Economic Conclave.
