RR Kabel to buy Usha Martin’s UM Cables for ₹77 crore to foray into OFC business

NEW DELHI: RR Kabel on Friday said its board has approved the acquisition of UM Cables, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Usha Martin, to foray into the optical fibre cable business.

“The proposed acquisition will be undertaken on a slump sale and on concern basis for a lump-sum cash consideration of ₹77 crore,” RR Kabel said in a statement.

The company added that this is an important step in RR Kabel’s presence in the broader communication cables market, and will complement its existing cable portfolio.
