Japanese chip manufacturing gear provider Hirata forays into India through partnership with ATS
NEW DELHI: Hirata Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer of advanced automation and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, on Wednesday said it has partnered with ATS India (Automated Tooling Systems India) to sell its equipment and technology portfolio in the country.
“The collaboration comes at a pivotal time for India’s semiconductor ambitions, as the country accelerates efforts to build domestic manufacturing capabilities,” the companies said in a joint statement.
In the initial phase, ATS India will offer Hirata’s advanced semiconductor automation and material-handling technologies to India, including Equipment Front End Modules (EFEM), FOPLP load ports, PLP panel handling robots, ad high-performance wafer handling robots.
